Healthcare shouldn't feel this hard.

Managing your health is overwhelming—but it doesn't have to be.

You leave confused

Medications pile up

Nearly 50% of patients don't take medications as prescribed, often due to confusion about dosing.[2]

Your care circle is left in the dark

Your care circle wants to help, but keeping everyone updated after every appointment is exhausting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it legal to record my doctor visits?

In most US states (39 out of 50), yes. These are known as "one-party consent" states, meaning only one person in the conversation (you) needs to consent to the recording.

However, 11 states require all parties to consent (California, Florida, Illinois, etc.). Regardless of the law, we strongly recommend always informing your doctor out of courtesy. Most providers are supportive when they know it helps you manage your care.

Is my health data secure?

Yes. LumiMD uses HTTPS/TLS for transmission and cloud-provider encryption at rest. LumiMD is a direct-to-consumer app and is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate. Your audio recordings are processed to generate summaries and then deleted with automated cleanup checks; transcripts and summaries remain in your account unless you delete them.

Who can see my recordings and summaries?

Only you. Your data is yours and yours alone. We do not sell your data to third parties, advertisers, or insurance companies. You can choose to share specific summaries or information with your care circle via our "Care Circle" feature, but this is entirely under your control.

Does it work for telehealth or phone appointments?

Absolutely. You can use LumiMD to record audio from your computer speakers or another device during a telehealth visit. The AI works just as effectively to summarize virtual consultations as in-person ones.

What if my doctor doesn't want me to record?

We recommend always informing your provider before recording. Most are supportive once they understand it's for your personal health management. If your provider has concerns, you can share our Information for Providers page, which includes clinical research showing that recordings do not increase liability risk and can actually improve patient outcomes.
